Simply Sarah: Christmas Parties!

I love this time of year! Last week-end we had 2 family parties. On Friday night we had the Dietz family party. It was so much fun...so much fun that I forgot to take pictures :( Luckily my aunt Pam saved the day and took lots of pictures! We had the party at my dad's house and we were just about busting at the seams! My grandma and grandpa Dietz were each able to make it down and my Uncle Jens and Aunt Cheri made it down from Oregon too. It's been fun to see how much we have all grown and changed over the years. When we started this party I was in high school. Now I have 2 kids of my own. The kids each get a bag full of wrapped dollar store type gifts. They have a blast un-wrapping all of the presents. Then the adults play Yankee Swap which is always so fun.

The next night we had the DeVore Family party. We had the party at my mom's house. All of the siblings and grandkids were there. My grandma was also there and so was my Uncle Kyle and Aunt Julie. It's fun because Kyle and Julie have a little Joe the same age as my Jo. I wish we could see them more often. They are some of my most favorite people in the world! After dinner Santa came to visit!!! Anna was excited to see him and she stood pretty close to him while she waited for her turn but when it came time to actually sit on his lap she chickened out. Hence the picture of BOTH of us on Santa's lap. Joseph of course was not afraid of Santa at all. Santa brought Joseph a train set and Anna a talking/singing, pink My Little Pony. Joseph is now convinced that Santa has already come and I have had a hard time explaining to him that he is still going to come on Friday night.
